Steve Ferrara, MD, FSIR, FACR is a pediatric interventional radiologist and the Deputy Director for Clinical Operations in the National Capital Region, the DoD’s largest and most complex healthcare Market caring for ~500,000 beneficiaries with an annual budget upwards of $1.6 billion.

Ardently involved with the Military Health System, Steve spent 25 years on active duty as a Naval Officer, retiring as a Navy Captain. He completed four deployments with the Army, Navy, and Marine Corps and was a Robert Wood Johnson/National Academy of Medicine Congressional Fellow during the 113th Congress. While on the Hill, Steve co-authored major healthcare legislation and provided Congressional oversight of numerous government agencies.

Steve earned his undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology at UCLA before completing his medical training in pediatric interventional radiology in the Navy at UCSD and Harvard Medical School’s Boston Children’s Hospital.
